Version 0.3.1.40 (Beta)

This is a small bug fixing version with minor GUI changes. This version does not add any new functionality to the prior v0.3.0. The application was tested on all Windows versions, from the XP Pro SP3 to the newest Windows 10 with no noticeable problem. Please advise me if otherwise.

Version 0.3.0.33 (Beta)

After a long hiatus, it is more than about time to add some improvements to InsPMDic application. In this version, minor changes were made to the GUI. On the other hand, new functionalities were added to make it more powerful yet keeping it simple to use, despite it demanded a lot of extra coding.

The major achievement is that it now can directly extract dictionaries from packaging files with the ZIP (generic), OXT (LibreOffice/OpenOffice), and XPI (Mozilla's Firefox/Thunderbird) extensions, the three major packaging form where Hunspell files are found in the Web.

As an accessory application to Pegasus Mail, it now has the ability to "install" itself into its application toolbar by creating a Form Fact File (FFF), deploying an application bitmap, and by using Gerard Thomas' 32-bit runexe.dll. If this DLL is missing from Pmail working directory it will also be deployed there.

Considering that those changes would add some complexity to InsPMDic's operation, a brand new HTML Help file (CHM) was created to guide the user on application's usage and methods. This help file may be called from the application using the F1 key. A help sensitive to the context will be available in further versions.

Finally, all documentation and Web page text was checked after misspelled words and grammar checking. I hope it is now minimally acceptable. Please advise me if otherwise.

Version 0.2.3.20 (Beta)

  • Hidden files and directories are now viewable from application's "Select either a .dic or .aff file" browse dialog. This is done by a momentaneous Windows' Registry override to overcome certain environments (e.g. Wine) settings. Hidden files are shown dimmed to differ from normal files.
  • Pegasus Mail can't see hidden files. This means that Pegasus Mail won't display on its available dictionary list those whose files (.aff and .dic) have a Hidden attribute, and/or because the top level directory where they are also have a Hidden attribute. It doesn't matter if they are remote files correctly referenced within its .v5dict control file or local dictionaries copied to Pmail's \DICTS directory. If files have a Hidden attribute Pegasus Mail won't treat them as valid and will ignore them gracefully. To overcome this minor nuisance, hidden files MUST me copied to \DICTS using InsPMDic. InsPMDic will remove its Hidden attribute at destination so to work properly in Pmail.
